I designed a poster and two wristbands for a music festival called Big Ears that happens every year in Knoxville. The poster was showcased during the festival on March 22-25, 2018 and at the Ewing Gallery's 71's Annual Student Art Competition on February 22 - March 8, 2018. The posters original size is 24" x 33".

I mixed olive oil, blue paint, water, and gold glitter during a "make your own pattern" part of the process. This ended up being the center piece of my design. What really led me to fall in love with this pattern was that it was such a happy accident. The process I took to create it embodied the festival in the fact that it was purely experimental. At first glance it was rough to look at but after some exploration it turned into a pattern with lots of color and personality. I felt like this truly represented Big Ears in a way that at first glance, the festival might not be so enticing but after doing research and listening to the artists, you come to the realization that it is a truly unique experience. It is so multifaceted and combines so many different creative elements which I felt was an important quality that was truly represented within this pattern.
